About Sunshine and Pixie Dust

Sunshine and Pixie Dust is a Country Bumpkin Creative Studio based in Wetumpka, Alabama, built on one simple belief:
creativity brings joy.

What started as a love for making things has grown into a place where people come to slow down, reconnect, and create, whether that happens around a studio table with friends or at the kitchen table at home.

Meet Cherie

Hey y'all, I’m Cherie, the heart behind Sunshine and Pixie Dust.

I’m a repurposed IT professional turned creative entrepreneur who discovered that working with my hands brought balance, peace, and joy to my life in a way nothing else ever had. What began as a creative outlet quickly became a calling: to create a space where others could experience that same joy, without pressure, perfection, or prior experience.

I believe creativity should feel easy, welcoming, and encouraging. You don’t have to be an artist here, you just have to show up.

Me + Jason = Sunshine and Pixie Dust

Sunshine and Pixie Dust is very much a family creation.

What began as my personal creative escape, especially during seasons when Jason worked out of state, slowly grew into something bigger than I ever imagined. Creating became a way to stay grounded, to find joy in the quiet moments, and to pour my heart into something meaningful while life felt stretched between places.

Through it all, Jason has been my biggest supporter and loudest cheerleader—always encouraging the dream, believing in the “what ifs,” and reminding me to take the next brave step, even when it felt scary.

As Sunshine and Pixie Dust grew, Jason became the fixer, the builder, and the steady voice saying, “Let’s try it.” He pushed me to think bigger, encouraged the leap into a brick-and-mortar studio, and helped find the building that would become our creative home. Together, we took what was truly a diamond in the rough and transformed it—piece by piece—into the warm, welcoming, joy-filled space it is today.

What started as something that carried me through a season of distance has become something we now build side by side, a family creation rooted in faith, hard work, and a shared belief in creating joy for others.

Creating Together (and Growing Together)

Sunshine and Pixie Dust is also shaped by the people who create alongside us.

Artist and dear friend Brittni is an important part of our creative journey and future vision. Her heart for art, teaching, and connection aligns beautifully with everything Sunshine and Pixie Dust stands for, and we’re excited to continue growing and creating together in ways that bring even more joy and inspiration to our community.

What We Create

At Sunshine and Pixie Dust, we create experiences that help people unplug, relax, and make something meaningful.

That includes:

  • In-studio paint parties, workshops, and creative events
  • Paint-and-take projects and ceramics
  • Take-home paint kits designed for all skill levels
  • Creative tees and apparel that celebrate art, joy, and self-expression

We’re proud to support local fundraisers, schools, organizations, and community causes through creative events and partnerships—using art as a way to bring people together and give back where it matters most.

While our studio is rooted in Wetumpka, our creativity travels far beyond our walls. We ship our paint kits and apparel nationwide, bringing a little Sunshine and Pixie Dust to homes all across the country.

More Than a Studio

Our studio is often described as a sanctuary, a place where laughter is encouraged, mistakes are welcome, and everyone leaves feeling a little lighter than when they arrived.

As Sunshine and Pixie Dust continues to grow, so does our creativity. From new classes and products to fresh ideas we haven’t even dreamed up yet, our story is still unfolding...and we’re excited to bring you along for the journey.

Whether you’re here for a class, a kit, a fundraiser, or a quiet moment of creativity at home, our hope is the same:

That Sunshine and Pixie Dust gives you permission to pause, create, and experience a little joy—one brushstroke at a time.
